Good morning,
Spring has come early this year. My neighbor has run all the gas out of the snowblower so winter is officially over! There is a hymn (#95 in the hymnal) titled “Spring Has Now Unwrapped the Flowers”. Usually I pick this for the middle of May and hope for a warm day!
I received this message from Wilson Ndovie: “I visited Edna Walkup at Sparrow Hospital this morning. She is feeling a little bit OK. This evening she is going to undergo a surgery on her left hip to mend it after it got broken from a fall. Edna seemed in very good spirits and was quite happy to see me, we prayed together. Edna asked that we remember her in our prayers as a Church family. ..and also that she would love more visits from church family. She did mention that she felt lonely, especially past week, and so our visits or calls would cheer her up. I understand that her blood relatives live far from this area, so we are her closest family in the area. Her room number in Sparrow is: 676; Room phone number: 517-364-1676. She might stay on at Sparrow Hospital till this weekend, so she may be moved out to place where she can receive physical therapy by early next week.”
Next weekend there will be a soul winning training session at Cedar Lake. Judith Miranda from Malibu, California will be one of the speakers. Go to www.misda.org for further details.
Sabbath Vespers at the Lansing church feature at 7:30 pm the Jeremy Hall Concert.
The May 1 singles meeting sponsored by the Charlotte church has been postponed.
Let’s not forget the Mother’s Day program on May 8th. The men will be cooking “Aunt Betty’s Tacos”. JoAnn Davidson will be the speaker. This is a program and potluck that you won’t want to miss.
We praise the Lord that Yasmin will be baptized this Sabbath at 5pm. Join us as we celebrate her commitment to Jesus!
Quote of the Week:
Difficulties will arise that will try your faith and patience. Face them bravely. Look on the bright side. If the work is hindered, be sure that it is not your fault, and then go forward, rejoicing in the Lord.–Testimonies, vol. 7, p. 244.
Pastor David will be sharing this Sabbath on being the “light” of the world! Join us for worship and fellowship!
See you tomorrow,
Mary
