February 5th, 2010 | Posted in Blog | Comments OffGood morning,
I finished the January offerings this week and our church donated over $1100 for Haitian Relief/ADRA. And the offerings continue as I received some in the mail this week! At home the church is starting another service to our members.
The church is establishing a food pantry to be located on the stage in the Fellowship Room. The pantry is for church members who could use some help from their church family during these tough economic times. The pantry will contain non perishable food. The list of items available thru the pantry is posted at the pantry and will be emailed at a later date. Monetary donations may be made at anytime. Mark your tithe envelope “Food Pantry”. Food donations should be limited to those items and sizes on the list to standardize the available food. Any member may access the pantry as needed. We ask that you use it in moderation so that others may share.
Be sure to visit our updated website: www.universitysda.com for our church calendar, worship bulletin downloads, ministry team schedules, sermon downloads, and upcoming supper club topics!
We will be having a special training this Sabbath on how to give Bible studies and winning our friends to Christ. It will be held in the boardroom at 2:00 pm after the Fellowship Dinner. All are welcome!
Beginning on February 6th, our general Sabbath School session in the sanctuary will begin earlier at 9:45 and extend until 10:15. Our Sabbath School classes will remain the same time as before from 10:15-11:15. If you have any questions please contact our Sabbath School Superintendent Laura Heilig at: 734-717-9353
We will be having a special sacrificial prayer time on Sunday mornings. It will be held in the Sabbath School room on the main level. The church will be open from 4am to 6am. Feel free to come and go – bringing your prayers and petitions to our Lord. There will be times for private prayer and hymns.
One of our members donated funds to send a Great Controversy to every home on our mailing route. It is through the Review and Herald program. They will be arriving in the homes sometime next week. Please pray that If you would be interested in sponsoring another mailing for sponsoring more homes in our zip code, please talk with Pastor David.
Quote of the Week:
Heavenly agencies are constantly seeking to impart grace and strength and counsel to God’s faithful children, that they may act their part in the work of communicating light to the world. The wonderful sacrifice of Christ has made it possible for every man to do a special work. When the worker receives wisdom from the only true source, he will become a pure channel of light and blessing; for he will receive his capability for service in rich currents of grace and light from the throne of God. TM 484
Pastor David will be continuing in his series from the Sermon on the Mount. Join us for worship and fellowship!
See you tomorrow,
Mary
