Good morning,

Fern and Oscar are selling a cookbook they helped put together for the Pathfinders in the Houston area.  They sent a copy for display at church in case anyone would like to order it.  The price is $17.  The Pathfinders are using the cookbook project to finance a trip to the Camporee in Texas and to replace old camping gear.  Call Marsha Brandon if you are interested.

Our February board meeting has been rescheduled to Thursday, Feb. 16th at 6:00pm at the church.

African – Caribbean Day is fast approaching, February 25, 2012. We would like to invite and encourage church family to dust up those great recipes for the International potluck that usually follows after the church service.  Also for everyone to prepare their traditional outfits – we have been blessed by such diverse cultures, we want to showcase and appreciate every country represented in our church as we ALL await the soon coming of our Lord!  For more info contact Zo Mcunu: 517 – 420 8442 or zodwamcunu@aol.com

If you have family or friends in other parts of the country or the world that would like to tune into our worship service, they can join us for live streaming video of our service at www.universitysda.com - every Sabbath at 11:30am EST.

Pastor David is currently in Austria. He will be speaking to a group of young adults from all over Europe. If you have any visitation needs during this time please contact our head elder and elders.

Have you ever wanted to know your Bible more? Have you desire to share your through a Bible study but wished you had some training? Every Wednesday evening at 6:30pm at the University Church in the fellowship hall we will be having a special seminar entitled, “Bible Boot Camp”. It will be specifically designed so that you will be able learn the special truths such as the Sabbath, Second Coming, and Salvation so that you will be grounded in your faith and be able to share.

Pastor Shin’s quote of the week:

All who consecrate soul, body, and spirit to God will be constantly receiving a new endowment of physical and mental power. The inexhaustible supplies of heaven are at their command. Christ gives them the breath of His own spirit, the life of His own life. The Holy Spirit puts forth its highest energies to work in heart and mind. The grace of God enlarges and multiplies their faculties, and every perfection of the divine nature comes to their assistance in the work of saving souls. Through co-operation with Christ they are complete in Him, and in their human weakness they are enabled to do the deeds of Omnipotence.  {Desire of Ages, 827)

We will be having fellowship lunch this Sabbath immediately following the worship service. Join us!

Our own resident scholar and university church member – Dr. Ron du Preez will be speaking this Sabbath. You won’t want to miss his presentation and study from Scripture! Join us for worship and fellowship!

See you tomorrow,

Mary
