Good Morning,

We are fortunate at the University Church to meet people from all over the world that come to MSU to study.  If we are lucky they come back to visit.  On Sunday, Jan 29th we will host a concert by a string group from Andrews University.  The conductor will be Claudio Gonzales, formerly a member of our church and now a Professor at Andrews.   Plan now to attend.

Kudos to Jamie Brandon this week.  She was inducted into the National Honor Society at Laingsburg High School.  Congratulations Jamie!

Pat Bodi has had some surgery this week and is recovering at home.  Sandy Firestone has a very painful pinched nerve and requesting prayers.  Please remember these ladies in your prayers.

This from Zo Mcunu:  “For General Sabbath School tomorrow we will be looking at: Ways to Restore Our Spiritual Passion!  Jesus is never happy with Christians that are neither hot nor cold spiritually. Lukewarmness is nauseating to Christ, He wants to take us to a better place…only if we let Him.  He can rekindle the fires of first love in His children if they see themselves as they really are and admit their need.  When the church at Ephesus lost its first love, Jesus counseled them to “remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. Revelation 2:5  That counsel is still good today. Let’s think back – what were the things we used to do when the whole experience of being saved by faith was fresh and new?  Join us at 9:45AM for Sabbath School as we look back fondly on those “first-love” experiences!”

Have you ever wanted to know your Bible more? Have you desire to share your through a Bible study but wished you had some training? Beginning on January 18th, every Wednesday evening at 6pm at the University Church we will be having a special seminar entitled, “Bible Boot Camp”. It will be specifically designed so that you will be able learn the special truths such as the Sabbath, Second Coming, and Salvation so that you will be grounded in your faith and be able to share.

Quote of the Week:

Our heavenly Father has a thousand ways to provide for us of which we know nothing. Those who accept the one principle of making the service of God supreme, will find perplexities vanish, and a plain path before their feet.–The Ministry of Healing, p. 481.

Pastor David will be speaking this Sabbath. Join us for worship and fellowship!

See you tomorrow,

Mary
